June 25, 2008 In the last week we've had six old friends come to visit, and each of them has asked the very same question: Amy, why is/are there _____________________ on your dining room wall?
I have similar fixtures on the ceilings in my house! They once held chandeliers, apparently...But to us kids growing up, they had entirely different connotations. :)
Nipples. Why are they there? For chandeliers like maureen78 said?
My parents have a light above the stairway that looks like a breast. My dad always putting in a new light bulb because it's hard to reach. Random story, my favorite kind.
Boobs... That was a no brainer! All of the light fixtures in our apartment look like boobs hanging down. We decided that's why our baby was so content to lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling...
Yeah I thought your post was going to be about some new framed picture you got and all I was thinking was, "Does she know she has boobs on her wall?" Is it because a bachelor lived their before? Is there a strippers pole in your bedroom too? C'mon, be honest!
Your Grandma rocks! (paint a bikini-what a brilliant idea!) Yeah, so unoriginal, but all I could think of were breasts; breasts that have never breastfed. Did you know your house was a barren female? I, apparently, have a dirty mind. All those light fixtures that are round with pointed little brass tips - totally boobs. I've pointed this out to several friends who have the fixtures in their houses and have now corrupted many people. (I see phalli in odd places too, so I'm equal opportunity when it comes to genitalia.)
But, the real question, what are they really? I thought thermostats but upon gazing closer, nope. Are they to hang sconces from? To rub and ask questions - like built in magic 8 balls?
no problem Maraiya...hey Amy here's another idea.. since they are so far apart..get another pair so each one can have its partner closer together, then paint 2 buxom clothed(of course) bodies around them(or maybe a cartoon figure like Jessica Rabbit...nice accent table in between..and you may make it on HGTV!!ok I have to finish packing now.
Orbs of delight as I like to call them. I would accent them with pasties to be quite honest. At least make it decent for the children. Your son will most definitely have unrealistic expectations for women from here on out :)
