Here's the short report:
Qualifying for Boston is a total and complete bastard.
I was perfectly on pace until mile 23, and all of the sudden I had a hamstring cramp that could have only come from the devil himself. I wouldn't even call it a cramp, my leg pretty much just quit working--maybe what a pirate's peg leg would feel like?
Anyhoo, I stretched 'er out, jogged to the 25 mile mark, walked to the 25.5 mile mark, and ran it in to a time of 3:51.
Not a BQ. Not a PR. Still a pretty respectable time.
I have no idea how something can be so torturous and so freaking fun at the very same time. Man I love/hate the marathon.
And Boston? You'll be my bitch at Bay State on October 17th. No more of these games.
Longer report coming soon...

Awwwww, dang girl. I thought you had this one in the bag.
Next time. Next time....
Damn hamstring. But yes, totally respectable time. I'd be more than thrilled with that time. Okay, I'm lying... if I got 3:51 I'd be so mad that I was only 6 minutes off of a BQ for my age... and yes, I know 6 minutes is like an eternity, but it's still close enough to taste. But since there's no chance in hell I'm even getting a 3:51, I'll not worry about that.
3:51 may not be a BQ, but it's a freaking amazing time...congrats!...now go eat some ice cream. :)
Good job on finishing. I know the love hate...I keep looking at my BQ time and wondering how my feet are ever going to get moving that fast. I'm either going to qualify because I got faster or because I got older. Next time Amy..Next time you'll get it done.
you rock, Amy!!! seriously amazing time, especially since you practically just had a baby... i can't imagine doing a marathon so soon after giving birth. i wish you lived next door so you could kick my butt back into shape. you are awesome!!
I still think you're an awesome Lawson.
I'm so glad you're not bumming...next time, baby!
Awesome time, Amy! Congratulations on keeping going through the peg leg pain and finishing! You are amazing!
