Quality of Life

April 6, 2009

Phew. Last week it felt like my little family was spread all over the dang map. Probably because we were. From Utah to Arizona to Georgia to Massachusetts, my clan was seriously dispersed. But today I'm happy to announce that I'm back, Jared's back, the dog's back, and honestly, I'm not really sure where James is.

Last week I taught him how to hide under a bed, and my oh my, what a wonderful gift this has been to myself. Basically James spends three hours hiding, crawls out for a potty break, three more hours hiding, emerges for a snack, and so on and so forth.

Today I might send him under the bed with a box of granola bars and his portable DVD player. According to my calculations, this would buy me more than enough time to take a brief shopping trip to TJ Maxx. And dude, I love TJ Maxx.

Today I would like to know if there are any women out there who don't love TJ Maxx, and if so, I want to hear an exceptional excuse.

This week I bought a Liz Claiborne bra, with a manufacturer's suggested retail of $30, for THREE DOLLARS! Honest to goodness, my boobs look absolutely breathtaking and I had enough money left over for a six-pack of burger shots from my neighborhood BK.

I love my life. But only because of TJ Maxx.

Please feel free to join with me in the love fest...or give me that really good excuse.

Happy Monday everyone!

I want to love TJ Maxx (I really really do), but I just don't have the patience to comb through the racks. If someone were to pick out all the pieces in my size without missing buttons or additional arm holes, I might go more often. Or just show me where to get the $3 bras!

I hate TJ Maxx. I hate having to dig through racks of junk in the hope of finding the one good thing in there. And if I ever do find that one good thing, I never feel like it is cheap enough to have been worth the effort.

I don't have a TJ Maxx near by anymore, but oh my goodness, I love TJ Maxx Homegoods a little too much if you catch my drift.

I love TJ Maxx. In fact, I'm there too often. One of my friends, absolutely abhors it. She swears that's where she got a raging case of head lice. I think it was more likely her kids. Now that I think about it, I might rethink that friendship.:)

TJ Maxx is my favorite and my best......And I'm not just saying that to gain your approval. Really. My crusty stained couches with broken zippers will surely last me another 10 years thanks to the adorable floral blankets strewn over them as makeshift slipcovers. Thank you TJ Maxx!

I too, have snagged some fabulously cheap boob transforming/life changing bras.....my only complaint is that now that the underwires are stabbing me in the pancreas (I may or may not have boobs that hang that low) and the once white straps are stained yellow from my vanilla Victoria's Secret lotion, TJ mAxx of course doesn't carry them anymore. So now I'm left all sad and saggy.....having experienced the joy of a cheap miracle bra. Twas NOT better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.....or something like that.

I got a suit for my 3 yr old son for my brothers wedding for $12! I was thrilled since he grow out of it the very next day. I went in there about a month ago and found a Vera Bradley make-up case for $3. It is my friend's favorite pattern so Happy Birthday to her!

I agree that you do have to dog sometimes but that is just the thrill of the kill!!

I LOVE TJ Maxx!! You can't go in there looking for something specific because it's just not that kind of store. You have to open minded to shopping possibilities. But once you find that something (at a seriously discounted price) you can ease over to the shoes, the handbags and the jewelry to complete your outfit pluse slip back and buy plates and towels and knicknacks... AT A SERIOUSLY DISCOUNTED PRICE!! What's not to love?

Marshalls is nice too.

I used to love TJ Maxx, but now I have TJ Maxx PTSD.

This one time, my mom and I were shopping there and this guy that was obviously VERY high came in and FROLICKED around the store, pulling things off shelves, clothes off the racks and twirling and skipping and hopping and throwing things about.

He looked like his own TJ Maxx musical, "never never pay full price! TJ MAXX! dun dun dun"

THEN, my mom and I left the store to stand in the hall because he kept getting scarier. Having stuff thrown at you and around you is kind of scary, especially with "that" look in someone's eyes while they do it. (I'm sure you know.)

When the cops came, we were walking down the hall of the mall and just as the high guy came flailing, screeching and screaming along, I turned to see he was about to take out my mom. So I shoved her. Hard. And he went through the middle of us.

So I saved my mom's life, but I still thought it was scary.

Am I excused for not liking TJ Maxx or not?

I recently bought fabulous sheets at TJ Maxx. 800 thread count king-sized goodness for a very good price. That is awesome in my book.

I bought my first-ever real bra at TJ Maxx. I like finding cool things there, but I also hate shopping because I feel guilty if I buy anything and I should. :D

Back in college, my sorority had 3 formals a year - and for every formal, I hit up a TJ Maxx to find a new, awesome, sex-ay dress. I don't think I've been there since, but I loved getting all those formal dresses for $19.99 a pop!

I like TJ Max, but, I'm out in the boonies, so it's like an hour from me. I love a good deal anywhere I can get it! I'm feelin' a road trip coming on:-)

P.S. Send a potty chair under the bed with James and that'll buy you even more time to shop!

I don't know if I love TJ Max, but I want to...

If I hate Ross does that mean I'll hate TJ Max too?

A trip anywhere remotely like TJ Maxx only happens every 5 years or so (Alaskans, we're like hermit crabs, only come out if someone shoves a stick up our shell.) I got to show my husband the joys to Ross's and TJ Maxx this last trip and now he insists we get new clothes every time we travel. No more packing and paying to check luggage! I love the discount world!
