My friend from Texas, invited me to join Twitter last night, and I finally broke down and did it. In case you're unfamiliar with Twitter, it will give you periodic updates on my day-to-day happenings. In other words, you'll have very timely updates on when I fart in front of my in-laws, or when Jared pees his pants.
(no, that's not a typo--it should say Jared and not James)
We have two options here, you can either follow me on the Twitter website (I think my username is Amy Lawson), or the updates can go straight to my blog--like up above. Just to be clear on this, if you're completely uninterested in when my dog licks a random baby's waffle, then vote no. If want to know what I had for lunch, then vote yes.
And finally, if anyone out there knows how to add a left hand column on my blog (and is willing to do it for me for nothing more than a virtual handshake), then I'll move the the whole Twitter thing over to that side and I can list four or five updates instead of just one.
Cast your vote, you goofballs!

Mmmm....I'm sorry if answering that poll puts a pop-up of a lady wearing an Old Navy bikini on your screen.
At least she has a great body!
I'm voting again because I got a "free laptop" pop up, and I totally want the bikini girl pop up instead.
Now everyone (not just family members with a cell phone)can enjoy Amy's random thoughts throughout the day. :)
What a great friend you have!
I can never keep up on my twitter...
Last year I added a third column, but following the directions here:
http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/05/three-columns-rounders-template.html
Their instructions were pretty easy to follow - it required a little attn to detail, but def doable.
Now I want a waffle. Thanks.
I voted YES! It's a quick "hilarity fix" while I wait for a larger posting.
Tip: As long as the clean laundry is spread out a little, an impromptu nap on top of it counts as ironing. (See? It's even multi-tasking!)
oh here we go!
Like our election, would my vote even count?
This could get interesting.
I'm so glad you asked the question about the third column-I've been wondering the same, so now I'll just eavesdrop for my own purposes.
I love your twitters :)
if you stopped blogging I might die.
I tried the above link for checking out how to add a column or extra side bar or whatever. It said that I couldn't get to that page or some such thing. So I posed the question to blogging wizard Kimberly of Temporary?Insanity-she usually has the answers. Now it's a race to see who gets the answer first!
no, really. when she gets back to me, I'll pass on the info. Unless of course you've already got it all figured out. In which case, I'll consider myself the loser of the non-race.
I dont understand the twitter so I have no opinion there. But I think I need to tell you. I just tonight came across a photo of you and I. Post race (well I hope to gosh it is given how gorgeous we both are). Freshman year of college- me in Duquesne gear and you in Va Tech. No clue what meet. But we look HAWT. Not really. Amazingly I think I may have improved since 18. Though maybe not in hte belly...
But yeah its bad. Consider this your blackmail... make me an offer I cant refuse! ;)
Just as I suspected, that Temporary?Insanity wizard is coming through. She has a way of setting it up for me? Then she gives me the code and I put the blog back together after settling in to a new template. I don't know that it can be done on blogger templates without this code she has?
I currently use a pyzam template, which blogger allows, but the layout stays the same, with one sidebar.
What Kimberly is doing changes the layout, but I stay with blogger.
I may not make sense at all because I don't really even get it.
I'm rambling on, email style for all the world to see how clueless I am.
As she walks me through it, I'll let you know and you can see if you think doing it that way is worth the effort :)
I guess I'll come out of the lurker shadows for this one. I don't know if you can add a third column with blogger. I kept trying but eventually settled on a different template - but I'm lazy like that.
More Amy! More Amy all the time! (I voted yes).
Let us know if/when you figure out the three column thing... I've been thinking of switching up my layout to be like that too, just because right now my right column is usually longer than most of my posts.
Re: 3 columns
Go here and pick your template. There are 4 pages, so look through all before deciding.
Once you decide, click download, copy the ENTIRE code and paste it into your edit HTML section on the blogger dashboard.
Hope that helps!
Sorry, under layout put the code in the edit HTML box. You'll be deleting the old code and replacing it.
