A few items of business
August 26, 2007

First, click here to see a clip from the recent Miss Teen USA Pageant. If you'd like to donate to the South Africa and Iraq Map Fund, please contact me directly. It's a fantastic cause as Miss South Carolina so eloquently explains in her speech.

Second, speak now or forever hold your peanuts. If you posted a link to The Lawsons do Dallas! on your blog, or sent out a group email with the intention of getting a magnet, make sure you send me your mailing address.

Magnets are not emailable.

James is working away at the kitchen table, making sure the magnets are just right, and he'd hate to have you miss out. These individually crafted works of art will be finished up tomorrow and mailed out on Monday or Tuesday--after that you'll be schnit-out-of-luck. For those of you who sent me your addresses, expect nothing less than fabulousness.

Happy Sunday!

That was HILARIOUS! Someone give that girl a dunce cap. Please. She's a perfect example for the reason to have such a question. Duh! PS... I told everyone on my email list (a whopping 5 or 6 people) that your blog is a must read! You help me get through each day with a chuckle/snort/giggle, etc. Thanks for all the laughs! No magnet necessary. There are child labor laws, you know, and I wouldn't want James to exceed his limit. :-)

Wow, thanks for the laugh. I watched it 3 times. What a dumba$$.

While I would love to get one of James' handcrafted magnets (p.s. please read up on child labor laws), I'd rather you save the postage and apply that money towards your next bag of generic cheese puffs. Your Welcome! =)

I watched that live (wife wanted to watch) and could not believe her answer. Way too funny.

I personally believe that many US Americans spend too much time watching lame-o pageants. Then again, this one clip may make the waste worth it.

Sweet! I will wait by my mailbox in anticipation!

I'm a nomad! I don't have an address! It's not fair!

Michelle--I'll save one for you and send it when you live somewhere, ok? Just let me know when that big day arrives!

That is the funniest clip ever. Did she win?

I can't get to the Miss Teen USA site from work (those pesky firewalls, what a nuisance) so that will have to wait.

But I'm looking forward to getting the magnet!

I didn't know people could ACTUALLY be that dumb! And by the way, Jason just read your marriage tips blog and says that a naked, crouching Jared is a mental picture that he did NOT need :)

As a tidbit, did you see in the news today that this young woman was given a "second chance" to answer her flubbed question on the "Today" show? It was better than the first time around, but still, c'mon!

BTW, yes, I'm an English teacher -- a college teacher. So, the "ketchup" error was one made by America's finest, just like little Miss Teen here.
