A Letter Dealing with Taxes

March 19, 2009

Dear Everyone,

We're having a bad day in our necks of the woods, and it has every thing to do with taxes. Taxes steal my creativity and inspiration--period. Therefore, there will be no blog entry today. I will be tied up. Sobbing into a 3-inch stack of paper.

If you see a news story this evening, highlighting the moment when an insane woman overturned the desk of a not-so-honest accountant, that was me.

Love,

Amy

Taxes are the bane of my existence as a small business owner. I am in favor of taxes and willing to pay my part, but when my part is 40% of my income, it gets a bit ridiculous. If you turn over the desk, give him a kick for me...

I want the news story to say you overturned the table and THEN...
(insert something dramatic)

Sorry about the tax crap.

I'll give you some of my sympathy if you give me some of mine . . . I have to file in two countries, and I never understood the forms in my first language, so the second language is going to be interesting. I hear most people here pay for accountants because it's just way too complicated. Great.

After you kick him, open up a can of worms (you can get them from the chiropractor) and pour it over him.

Dishonest accountants are Satan's minions!

Now I understand the need for whiskey, and lots of it!
